OOM: Since Sahaal can't get munitions from Bar, he has to turn to other sources much closer to home.

You ever feel like it’s hard to meet characters? Hard to find reasons to throw two characters together, and not sure you want to commit to a whole scene? Let’s try speed dating: Comment with your characters below, and people will tag in for a speed date. To simulate the time limit, each conversation can go no longer than 7 tags from each person. Characters who come as a set can absolutely join too, nothing wrong with a three-way or more-way date! (And no, these absolutely do not have to be dating-type conversations. Speed arguing, speed hating, speed friendly chatting, those are good too. Just throw characters at each other.)

This is all off-the-record, of course, not really IC. Unless someone has a character who wants to ICly set this up.

Thank you to everyone for tagging and enjoying the unofficial fight club, its wonderful to read all the threads in my notifs. Also its open as long as it needs to be, so don't worry if it feels late and you have an idea.

Reynolds! This is a wonderful and sad OOM, I loved reading it.

All the Digimon OOMs are completely heartbreaking and gorgeous.

Loki argues with the door, this is such a perfectly Milliways' EP.

Now I've only touched on all that's been going on, share which threads have been keeping your attention and what you've finished.

OOMish: After a few rounds at the firing range, Cassian and Ibani explore the library and are reminded of the long reach of the Sith and their Empire.

Tiny tag: Cassian Andor, contains mentions of the death and destruction that defines Sith and the Empire.

Bonnie is out back, with a toddler in hand. She and Billie are making slow progress around the garden, in the rain, wearing their raincoats and boots.

Billie has new boots, red and shiny. They're perfect for treading in puddles, which considering that she's only just started taking steps, is a very exciting thing to do indeed. Especially when you live somewhere that doesn't get very much rain.

Sometimes Bonnie has to help her a bit, by picking her up and dangling her in a puddle so she can splash her boots.

Chirrut knows this feeling. The world becomes heavy and close and leaden.  Sounds fall flat, and there's a sense that something is about to break, held just out of reach. Back home, this feeling would be a cause for concern and preparation - water was both precious and dangerous on Jedha. With the ground too desiccated to absorb any rainfall, it would turn into murdering floods with barely any provocation.

But this isn't Jedha.

Baze knows this feeling, too. And he knows that thunderstorms have always been a bane to his friend with superior hearing. They stand together on the porch outside, waiting for the clouds to shatter completely.

The rain does not disappoint. It pours down, soaking the green, growing earth. Baze holds out a hand. "It's warm," he says, awe flooding his voice. "Chirrut, it's warm."

Chirrut, as always, follows Baze's lead, thrusting his hand out into the downpour. Delighted laughter fills the small space of the porch. It's not just warm, it is generous, fat drops splattering over his hand. This is rain that is glad, not the bitter driving creature that would storm up from Jedha's vast, barren plains.

Since Chirrut is following Baze's lead today, he drags his friend out into the wet. They raise their hands, shake their hips, and throw their heads back to capture raindrops in their laughing mouths.

What would your character be like gender-switched? Would there be much of a difference, both physically and in the societal setting of their world.

Guppy's foot has almost healed up now, so he's been sorting out some things in the infirmary this afternoon. And right now, he's working on an inventory stock check list on his laptop, back in the main bar.

Botherable, though.

Wilford's had a couple of days to really think about what Jim had to say, while he's been hiding out upstairs. The last time he had to do something like this, it didn't end well, and doing it now just makes everything itchy and restless. But nobody's come banging on his door to haul him away, so at least it's going better than last time.

He has to get out though. He can't stay here forever, and there are things he needs to take care of. If he can figure out how to take care of them, that is. He's not going to do that hiding away in his room, so he waits until morning to take Buster downstairs and try to solve his problem over breakfast. While Buster chows down on his usual breakfast of tuna and raw egg, Wilford has a quiet conversation with the bar. He suspects that maybe this place had something to do with the problem Jim caused, but he gets neither confirmation nor denial, and eventually gives up.

The problem — one of the problems — is that he can't keep Buster here. Too many people are prepared to snatch him up the second it looks like he's been left alone, which is what led to the problem with Jim in the first place.

Eventually, Wilford knows what he has to do. By then, the risk of having his hand bitten off because Buster is too laser-focused on his food to pay attention to where he's putting his teeth has subsided, so Wilford reaches down and untwists the tags from his collar, taking everything but the one with his name and giving them to the bar. That's only half of a solution though, but he has no idea what to do about the second half. So he sits back and waits for an idea to come to him.

With very few exceptions, characters interact with others in their world. Most work with them in some way. Of those, most even bother to care about other people. (I know there are exceptions.) And even if none of this happens in their own worlds, there's always Milliways.

So, how do your characters react to conflict within their social circles? For the ones who will put in more than zero effort, what will they do? For the ones who usually cannot possibly care less, what can make them care?

I'm back, y'all. Last week was soooo long and the move isn't done. Ugg.

Anyway, let's do some fic! Comment with pups you'd like to write for, we'll then comment back with prompts from which you'll write a short fic. And since AU week is sometime in the near future, how about the fic is a preview of the world you might be thinking of playing from?

Sinric comes in from his door, looking older and more subdued that his usual self, dressed with almost monastic dour.

He stomps his feet, shaking his hair which shifts from a muted, almost greying platinum back to his usual gold. As he sheds the dun coloured outer robe, his face returns to his androgynous look, if tight with tiredness and ill-temper.

By the time he reaches the Bar, she has pot of tea waiting for him. "Thank you, dear one but I think I need something stronger." She adds a little glass of something clear and alcoholic with a smiley-face napkin.

Cassian enters Milliways with his pistol blaster in a holster at his side and rolling his shoulders. Its been a long day and he needs to do something or else he's going to break cover which he can't afford to do.

When he goes up to Bar to get water and hand wraps, she reminds him other people might be interested and he writes a quick note in Aurabesh that she translates on the notice board: Want to spar? Need to practice your accuracy. Come outside.

Instead of his name, he signs it with the Alliance Starbird.

Outside he starts setting up the firing range and finds the stormtrooper helmets he'd used before are still there. Then he gives the heavy bag a few good hits before stripping down to his undershirt and stretching to see who else comes along.

Tiny tag: Cassian Andor, Baze Malbus, Chirrut Imwe, Eden, Cassidy, Rose
(OOC: Unofficial fight club and firing range. I'll set up places below, so it can be treated like other fight clubs. Cassian won't be watching as closely as Sam. Let me know if you want a thread with me or not, treat this like a party post too, set up whatever you need, threadhop. Open as long as everyone wants it to be.)

Hey, so there hasn't been a fight club for a while and I know I have at least one pup who wants to hit and blow things up. I'm not planning on doing an official fight club but an unofficial one with Cassian out by the firing range and pells. Would anyone be interested?

ETA: Post is up here. I've set up a few subthreads, please add more, tag under. Let me know if you want Cassian anywhere if not I'll be tagging around. Have fun, channel the anger.

I had a question, and in trying to look up the answer to said question, I was faced with another one.

Which one of you is responsible for this? http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Roleplay/MilliwaysBar

I had no idea that page existed, and I'm tickled at it! It's great!

And since I never did find the answer to my original question, I'll ask it here as well. What is the hotel that the bar's rooms are supposed to be modelled after? I know its rooms are weird, and that's all I can remember.
